Client’s Requirements

Stickland Farms produces canola and corn for feed operations in Red Deer Alberta, Canada. As long-time composters, Stickland Farms wanted to take their operation to the next level by incorporating food waste into their existing mix. Unfortunately, their system was not designed for highly energetic feedstocks leading to odor issues. At this point they reached out to several firms ultimately landing on GMT.

Our Solution

GMT redesigned the existing Aerated Static Pile (ASP) facility to accommodate odorous feedstocks by increasing aeration rates, installing larger blowers, and adding WebMACS state-of-the-art control system for temperature regulation. By improving the efficiency GMT also expanded the amount they could process, bringing annual capacity to 45,000 tons per year.
