Client’s Requirements

Stickland Farms produces canola and corn for feed operations in Red Deer Alberta, Canada. As long-time composters, Stickland Farms wanted to take their operation to the next level by incorporating food waste into their existing mix. Unfortunately, their system was not designed for highly energetic feedstocks such as food waste, leading to odor issues.

Our Solution

GMT redesigned the existing Aerated Static Pile (ASP) facility to accommodate food waste by increasing aeration rates, installing larger blowers, and adding WebMACS state-of-the-art control system for temperature regulation. GMT also helped expand the existing operation to accommodate the new feedstocks, bringing annual capacity to 45,000 tons per year.

“Green Mountain Technologies has proven their expertise and professionalism, and they are always just a phone call away and offer their assistance promptly. Allwood Recyclers, Inc. was an existing facility for over 20 years prior to working with GMT to design our ASP system…I was very impressed with how they worked with our challenges and made adjustments to their design to make everything work for our facility…I have enjoyed working with the GMT team and would recommend them to anyone looking for a composting system design.”
