Client’s Requirements

Bloedel Reserve is a premier public garden and community space dedicated to horticulture and sustainability. As a sustainable garden it was of paramount importance that they’re organics management operate on a closed loop, ensuring that they create the highest quality compost and avoid the emissions and cost associated with hauling their waste off-site. They were looking for an elegant solution that created excellent compost on a small footprint.

Our Solution

Bloedel reserve reached out to GMT for assistance with the design of their composting facility. They had designed and budgeted a windrow facility under an open sided enclosure. GMT suggested a simple pipe on grade ASP system. Seeing the significant advantages to product quality and cost savings - cut construction in half - Bloedel reserve contracted GMT to provide and install the system. The three zone pipe on grade ASP was built and installed in 2021, and has been operating without issue since.
