Client’s Requirements
After many years of composting green waste in a static mass bed, Allwood decided it was time to improve throughput and reduce odor. They wanted a solution that was budget friendly, worked on the existing parcel of land, and could be incorporated into their existing asphalt pad.
Our Solution
GMT was hired to conduct a feedstock evaluation to assess the effectiveness of Aerated Static Pile (ASP) composting at the Allwood facility. After a successful trial, Allwood hired GMT to design a positive only below grade aeration system. GMT designed an 8-zone pipe at grade aeration system, that could be installed into the existing pad. To help save the customer money, GMT worked directly with the clients construction team to cut trenches in the concrete, lay the ducting, and repave the trenches.
