biography
Jasmine is an engineer for Green Mountain Technologies, designing improvements to the Earth Flow through CAD, prototyping and testing. She also assists with production, including wiring, welding, and assembly.
Jasmine graduated from Olin College of Engineering with a BS in Mechanical Engineering where she learned the importance of designing systems that work with both the environment and the people living in it. She has seen first hand the effects of inefficient waste management on communities’ health and quality of life while living and traveling in Ghana and India.
Jasmine is on the Board of Directors at the Washington Organics Recycling Commission (WORC). Additionally, through hiking the Appalachian trail and camping on farms and glaciers, she’s connected deeply with nature and is committed to using engineering for the betterment of the environment we have to share. She thru-hiked the entire 2000+ mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and previously lived and worked on a glacier in Alaska as a dog handler for dog sledding tours. She also worked with a non-profit in Ghana, QueenTech, that provides cassava processing machines to women entrepreneurs. She enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking and loves adventures in the outdoors. Her favorite compost recipe includes lots of mango peels.
