biography
James serves as a Composting Soilutionist at Green Mountain Technologies, where his primary responsibilities include developing composting infrastructure and supporting Earth Flow operators. He possesses extensive professional experience across urban agriculture, construction, community development, and finance, complemented by a lifelong dedication to composting and horticulture.
He holds degrees in Organizational Leadership and Youth & Community Engagement from Wright State University, in addition to multiple professional certifications, including Master Gardener and Master Recycler. Over the past decade, James directed the conceptualization, design, construction, and management of an urban agriculture and food waste composting facility for The Foodbank, Inc., a Feeding America affiliate located in Dayton, Ohio. This tenure included seven years operating their Earth Flow In-Vessel Composting System. In recognition of his achievements, he was named the 2024 Small Scale Compost Manufacturer of the Year by the US Composting Council, alongside accolades from the Garden Club of America and local food councils.
Beyond his professional commitments, James participates extensively in volunteer initiatives focused on hunger relief, agricultural production, adult literacy, and environmental advocacy. He is a board member of the Ohio Organics Council—a state chapter of the US Composting Council—and continues to provide mentorship to numerous individuals across his diverse fields of expertise.
