Client’s Requirements

Great Harvest Company (Asia), in its pioneering composting project in Hong Kong, aimed to demonstrate the feasibility of urban composting, primarily for a research initiative at a local university - The Chinese University of Hong Kong. They required a comprehensive turnkey solution for implementing similar projects in mainland China. A subsidiary company, TLY Biotech Co., engaged in organic fertilizer production and distribution in southwest China, sought to process 250 tons per day of sludge from a sugar factory. These diverse needs compelled the search for an efficient composting system to manage organic waste, further research, and produce high-quality compost products.

Our Solution

GMT partnered with Great Harvest Company (Asia) to provide a tailored solution in the form of a 30'x10' Site-Built Earth Flow in-vessel composter. This innovative system allows Great Harvest to efficiently manage various organic waste streams, including tea and agricultural waste, while furthering their research initiatives. The high-performance mixing and aeration technologies of the Earth Flow ensure efficient composting processes, significantly reducing the waste management burden. The GMT composting system integrates multiple engineering controls including odor prevention mechanisms to fulfill a low-impact, highly effective composting operation. This solution not only supports their research goals but also contributes to producing top-quality compost products, aligning perfectly with Great Harvest Company's mission of sustainable and responsible waste management.
