On-site Campus Composting

Composting can be done on campus, close to where the food waste is generated, without nuisance odors or pests. The size of the composting system is dependent on how much food waste is generated on campus. For schools and universities, the two most popular containers are the Earth Flow and the Earth Tub.

GMT has installed an Earth Flow In-Vessel Composting System on a high school campus directly adjacent to a student dining hall, public sidewalk and busy road. Across the street is a pre-school, church and residential neighborhood and this installation operates without odor complaints. The Earth Flow’s unique aeration and bio-filtration system help to mitigate and control odors.

The Earth Tub is common for K-12 campuses or smaller colleges. The Earth Tub is fully enclosed, has a built-in bio-filter odor control system and is easy to load and unload.
