WebMACS Aeration Controls
GMT has been designing and building aerated composting systems for over 20 years using the best available technology. The WebMACS system has proven reliable and cost effective for communities as small as Gustavus, Alaska or as large as Portland, Oregon.

Recent advances in web-based technology have allowed GMT to develop a new low-cost, web-based aeration control system. This system will allow you to use any Internet-capable device to communicate with your composting facility. GMT configures a custom secure web page for every customer. This page allows you to see your temperatures, change settings and control blowers all from your smart phone on your living room couch. The WebMACS systems are based on rugged and reliable industrial controllers. A wide range of models are available with the ability to control small or large aeration systems. The MACS system uses temperature feedback to automatically maintain the optimal composting environment. Simply log on through your hand-held device or smart phone to adjust the on/off time of the blower and temperature set point. When the setpoint is exceeded, the blower will run continuously until the temperature drops below the set point.

CompDACS - Compost Facility Aeration Control System
The CompDACS is Green Mountain Technologies’ state of the art computerized control system for compost process control and monitoring.

The primary aeration control strategy utilizes a VFD to regulate blower speed to maintain constant duct pressure. Secondary aeration control is via a 3-position damper which regulates volume of air flow and direction of air flow to each composting container. The system includes a main control panel, field control panel(s), and field J-boxes. All panel-to-panel communication is via Ethernet cable

The CompDACS continuously monitors and records the temperature of each compost batch, and successively implements up to four user-defined time/temperature process goals. PID closed loop logic is used to provide real-time control of damper positions and blower speeds.

This system receives commands and displays information through a graphical user interface (GUI) which runs on Windows™ based computers. The interface software graphs temperature data and prints reports to meet EPA 503 requirements for Class A compost.

Green Mountain Technologies has taken our in-vessel control technology and created a skid mounted aeration system for Aerated Static Piles (ASP) facilities. The skid comes with blower, dampers and control panel all mounted and ready to connect to aeration plenums and biofilter. The modular skid design minimizes site installation and engineering costs and installs quickly.

The primary aeration control strategy utilizes a variable frequency drive to regulate blower speed to maintain constant duct pressure and minimize energy costs. Secondary aeration control is via zone dampers which regulates volume of air flow to each ASP zone. The system can operate in either positive or negative aeration modes by manually or automatically switching suction and pressure connections to the blower.

Process air can be recirculated back to the piles or directed to a biofilter for odor control. The system includes a main control panel, field control panel (one for every 4 zones), and a J-box for each zone with a control damper and two temperature probes. All panel-to-panel communication is digital via Ethernet cable which minimizes field wiring requirements. Wireless temperature probes are available for sites where cables could interfere with operations.

The CompDACS™ takes the guess work out of composting. The computer based controller regulates the position of rotary dampers to regulate the direction and volume of process air. The CompDACS stores temperature graphs and prints reports to meet EPA 503 requirements for class A compost.
